SKILLS ASSESSMENTS: Skills assessments, which are required for all players 9 & are Sunday, Feb. 12th and Saturday, Feb. 25th at Snider Park. Players who do not attend a skills assessment will not be eligible to play at the Majors level. The skills assessment process is used to determine the most appropriate division for the player to participate. We encourage and highly recommend that players attend both skills assessments dates if possible, but attendance at only one is required.
The following is a time schedule for skills assessments for both dates:
9:00 AM-10:00 AM: 9-12 year old baseball players; LAST NAMES: A-M
11:00 AM-12:00 PM: 9-12 year old baseball players; LAST NAMES: N-Z
1:00 PM-2:00 PM: 13+ baseball players
2:30 PM – 3:30 PM: All softball players
The skills assessment is going to be ran differently than it has in previous years. So a little clarification needs to be done so that all of you understand and are aware of how things are going to run this year.
The times listed are the widows of time to arrive for assessments check ins at the clubhouse. After completing the check in, please expect the process of the assessments to take approximately 90 minutes.
Pre-registration before the skills assessments date is strongly advised to streamline the process. You can register your player at skills assessments. Players should come to the assessments prepared to play ball and should be dressed accordingly. Male players should wear cups. Make sure your player brings a mitt. There will be bats for use if your player does not own one yet.
Due to uncertainty of the weather for each weekend, please check your email and/or the website before heading out to the ballpark. If skills assessments are cancelled, we will provide notice no later than 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Pre-Season Batting Cage Use
From January 10th through February 28th, NKLL would like to invite all families who have registered for the 2017 season to use our batting cages at Snider Park on Tuesday nights from 5:00 - 7:00. This is an "open use" period that families may use as they wish on a first-come, first-served basis. There will not be any assigned coaches, so parents must either remain with their kids or make arrangements with another parent to be responsible for them. There will be a NKLL board member on-site to open/close the cages and ensure all activities are conducted safely. We'll have baseballs/softballs and batting helmets available.
There is no additional cost for this cage use, but any kids in the cage MUST be registered for the 2017 season for insurance purposes. If you have any questions, please contact us at email@example.com
