Skills Assessments

Skills Assessments (Tryouts)

SKILLS ASSESSMENTS:  Saturday, February 12th

All baseball and softball players who wish to participate in the AAA division or above are required to attend at least one skills assessment (aka "Tryouts"; same thing).  The skills assessment process is used to determine the most appropriate division for the player to participate. Players may attend both skills assessments dates if desired, but attendance at only one is required.

You can determine your child's league age here: Little League Age Calculator.  If your child is planning to play Tee Ball, Challengers, or one of our Machine Pitch Divisions (A or AA), then attending the tryouts is neither required nor desired.

Players should arrive at the Snider Park Clubhouse sometime in the following windows, based on their league age and last name:

9:00 AM-10:00 AM: League-age 8-12 year old baseball players interested in playing either AAA or Majors Baseball: LAST NAMES: A-M

10:30 AM-11:30 AM: League age 8-12 year old baseball players interested in playing either AAA or Majors Baseball; LAST NAMES: N-Z

1:00 PM-1:30 PM: League age 8-11 year old softball players interested in playing AAA Softball.  ALL LAST NAMES.

1:30 PM-2:00 PM: League age 11-12 year old softball players interested in playing Majors Softball.  ALL LAST NAMES.

2:30 PM-3:30 PM: League age 13-16 year old baseball and softball players interested in playing either Intermediate, Junior, or Senior Baseball, or Senior Softball.  Also for 11 or 12-year old's who are interested in playing Intermediate baseball or 12-year old's interested in playing Senior Softball (not common).  ALL LAST NAMES.

The times listed are the windows of time to arrive for assessments check-ins at the clubhouse. After completing the check in, please expect the process of the assessments to take approximately 90 minutes to two hours.

Online registration before the skills assessments date is strongly advised to streamline the process. Players should come to the assessments prepared to play ball and should be dressed accordingly. Male players should wear cups. Make sure your player brings a fielding glove. There will be bats for use if your player does not own one yet.

Due to uncertainty of the weather for each weekend, please check your email and/or the website (Click here to go to the Registration Page) before heading out to the ballpark. If skills assessments are cancelled, we will provide notice no later than 8:00 a.m. that morning.
